Hi. It's been awhile.
I am doing pretty good. I had hip surgery two weeks ago and am revcovering ahead of schedule. I'm pleased that I am now walking and no longer with a walker!
I continue to recover from all the breast cancer treatment. I remain very tired and have a significant lack of energy. This concerns me.
I was expecting to begin immunotherapy around now. Unfortunately I learned that my insurance company will not cover it. My tumor size narrowly missed their requiremnets. The other criteria the insurance company uses is if nodes were involved. They were not this time around. They don't care that they were the first time.
There is zero consideration for the fact I had recurrent breast cancer. No consideration they I have also had leukemia and a bone marrow transplant. They are not interested in the complete picture whatsoever.
As a result, I have inquired with Fred Hutch Cancer Center, formerly Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. regarding of they can assist me with either getting the drug or if they have any clinical trials I can participate in. I would like there to be some benefit from this journey.
My frustration level is very high. I have also been diagnosed with PTSD from all the medical stuff. I am working with a counselor on all of this. Hopefully I will see progress soon.
Thank you to all of you who check in on me and continue your support. You are appreciated beyond words!
