It has been an interesting week. I recovered, mostly, from what we thought was the stomach flu. An ER visit provided much needed IV fluids and IV meds. And then again, the exact thing happened. Extreme nausea and vomiting plus stomach pain, for several days. To be honest, I'm a little concerned. One doesn't get stomach flu two weeks in a row. I am trying to decide if I am paranoid, realistic, or both.
So I missed several days of appointments, again. I don't like doing that but it was necessary. So I feel like I am rather behind.
Five more weeks in the boot......
Today, however, I saw my surgeon who cleared me to begin radiation in 1-2 weeks. She would like to see the maximum possible healing before beginning radiation and destroying tissue. I am now scheduled for a repeat simulation for next Monday and hopefully a radiation treatment schedule is forthcoming.
My biggest news is that my son, Private Robertson, leaves Monday for Army Reserve Basic Training. Unfortunately the location has been changed to Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri, rather than Ft. Sill in Oklahoma. He will graduate Basic in mid-May and leave the following morning to begin his firefighter training in Texas.
It is quite possible that I will not see him until he graduates in September. Oh, my Mama heart bursts with pride but also hurts knowing I will not see my boy for quite some time. But Brennan is ready. He is excited. He is ready to excel.
Sally,
Thank you for the update. Like Miss Tamme stated, the journey has some ups and down along the way. Please remember we are all with you.
Good news about pfc Robertson starting his basic training. Like JP, he will always continue to make you and Craig proud parents. We hear your dissapointment that Brennan will not be going to Ft. Sill in Oklahoma. Hey wait a minute, I believe you were born in Oklahoma, now I get it. Oh Sally! Fort LW is only 3 hours from Kansas City. That will work well if Brennan is a KC Chiefs fan.
Always in our prayers.
