It's been an eventful few days.
The hilarious teletubby photo is me in the hospital undergoing a seizure study. They glued about 30 electrodes to my head and then wrapped me up like that to help keep them attached.
So why am I in a hospital bed getting a seizure study, on a heart monitor, and connected to a Christmas tree of iv's? Well, it started with a sharp pain on the side of my chest. It got significantly worse when I took a breath. Then I spiked a fever and it was a done conclusion for an ER trip, as discouraging as that conclusion was.
I get checked in and sent to the triage window. I started to feel really poorly and am trying to tell this to the tech. The next thing I know I wake up on a gurney in the middle of the ER lobby. I had had a seizure.
Fast forward to now. The pain is pneumonia. Never knew one could have pneumonia without a cough..... The fevers have come down. Tylenol seems to do the trick. The doctors' concerns that I have metastasis to the brain (causing seizure) were disproven by an MRI of the brain. And now, thank goodness, with a negative seizure study, it was either a "one and done" or something called a syncopal convulsion, which looks like a seizure.
I'm still in the hospital and thank goodness I no longer look like a teletubby. Seizure precautions were just officially lifted. Now what? I don't know. But that's on tomorrow's agenda.
Oh my goodness Sally Friend…..
What a journey!!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!

Oh my goodness, another day of adventures in the ER! So glad the teletubbie look is no longer needed, your medical team got to the bottom of things, and your sense of humor is still firmly intact. You’re my hero, Sal. Onward, we go.
