Just Another Day

Monday's surgery went well. I am healing satisfactorily. As usual, I am likely not "taking it easy" as much as indicated. But life does go on......

As soon as I am healed, I am to start radiation. At this point I more or less am just eager to get going and get it done. This "journey" began last April. That feels like a very long time ago.

My spontaneous fracture remains a bit painful. I am wearing a tall orthopedic boot and have six more weeks to go. So random but a result of all that is going on in my body.

My hair is growing!! It is a pretty funny look. Clearly white/gray was not what I had hoped for. I am ready for the ok to color it. And lots of eyelashes are coming in. Eyebrows are appearing almost overnight. I am elated to feel like I am beginning to look less like a cancer patient and more like Sally.

Lots going on other than cancer. Brennan has joined the Army Reserve and leaves on March 4 for Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He will then be trained as a Firefighter. I am incredibly proud of his decision to serve our country and to utilize the military to finance his college degree. He has applied to transfer to University of Washington for Fall 2024.

John Paul is excelling at school (Carroll College) and having a great time as well. I am very proud of his academic success and his ability to balance school, work, and play.

Craig has taken a leave of absence from work. He is focusing on supporting me and designing our new normal.

All in all, I am happy. It is all unfolding as it should.

Sally you have been through so much over the years and that says so much about you. After all of these years you are still winning and the number of your followers only continues to grow. I found this picture on an old email of mine. ( That is a real person sitting o top of 10 ft of snow behind me).

Greetings Friend 😊 Reads like “progress in motion” that’s a great way…. Keep up the amazing work and leave your hair au natural… as Rex says, “ white/grey hair is a sign of all the blue ribbons one earns along the way “, and you my friend, have certainly earned each and every blue ribbon!!!
