Progress and A Goodbye

Much to everyone's surprise, my breast healing has turned towards progress and hope. My surgeon appointment on Thursday was significant as the choices were essentially 1. Things are improving, keep implants, and move forward with chemo or 2. Remove implants, heal, and move forward with chemo. Tbe great news was that I am keeping the implants and finally moving forward.

It is an odd position to actually want to do chemo. I am anxious to start and ready to go. Enough of the surgery phase. I am ready to make progress towards a return to health!

On Tuesday I will get a final check, and hopefully blessing, from my surgeon and then head straight over to the chemo oncologist to hopefully also receive her ok. I will ideally then begin the end of this coming week.

I also was given permission to do something fun! It's like squeezing all of summer into one weekend but I will take it at this point! I am writing you from Seattle. John Paul and I were able to come for the weekend to watch the Mariners play yesterday and today. I just know today we will clench the Division lead!

I must also share some sad news for our family. Our beloved Diogi passed early Friday morning. She was suddenly very ill with no chance for a meaningful recovery. Craig, John Paul, and I were present as she left this world. It was very hard not having Brennan there with us. She was our family dog and we all loved her dearly. Rest in peace, sweet girl.

Sally,

Has anyone today told you how remarkable you are? Your update this morning gives us all reason to be hopeful towards your complete and total recovery. You are so amazing! So glad that you and JP are able to take in a couple of Mariner games this weekend. Everyone's prayers are being heard! Sorry to hear of Diogi's passing. All dogs go to heaven!

Hi John. I agree that our dogs go to heaven. She will be waiting there for us someday….. A little R & R was good. Now we just have to get back to Spokane. I hope you and your family are all well. Stay tuned!
